Clinical Support Specialist (Nurse-Level)

Remote — IndiaFull-TimeU.S. Hours

This is a clinical role — not a medical billing or coding role. You must have a nursing background or equivalent hands-on clinical experience: reading and interpreting medical records, and speaking directly with physicians and medical offices. Applicants whose experience is primarily medical billing or coding, without clinical knowledge, will not be reviewed. Strong spoken and written English and availability during U.S. business hours are required.

Review and interpret medical records, summarize clinical findings, and communicate with physician offices for a U.S. healthcare operations team.

About this role

You will sit at the front end of a U.S. healthcare operations team, reading and interpreting patient medical records, summarizing what matters clinically, and flagging the findings a medical team needs to see. You will speak directly with physician offices and medical staff to obtain and clarify records, and use your clinical judgment — not billing or coding rules — to decide what is significant. This is a clinical role for someone with a nursing background or equivalent hands-on clinical experience.

What you’ll do

  • Read and interpret patient medical records and chart excerpts.
  • Summarize each record clearly and flag the clinically significant findings for the medical team.
  • Call physician offices and medical staff to obtain or clarify medical information.
  • Apply clinical judgment to labs, medications, and history — not billing/coding logic.
  • Work reliably during U.S. business hours with strong spoken and written English.

What we’re looking for

  • A nursing background or equivalent hands-on clinical experience reviewing and interpreting medical records.
  • Ability to identify clinically significant findings and explain why they matter.
  • Comfort speaking directly with physicians and medical offices by phone.
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • Reliable availability during U.S. business hours.

Nice to have

  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, and similar).
  • Exposure to medical underwriting, claims review, or insurance coordination.
  • Experience writing clinical summaries for a medical or review team.
