About this role
This is a long-term, full-time senior estimating role with a Texas-based commercial concrete and civil construction company, working fully remotely from India and reporting directly to the company owners. The estimator is central to the company bidding capacity and preconstruction work on commercial projects throughout Texas. You would independently review construction drawings, perform detailed concrete quantity takeoffs, build complete itemized estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors and project-specific costs, and prepare bid summaries with inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, alternates and clarifications. Core scopes include foundations, footings, slabs-on-grade, grade beams, structural walls, elevated concrete, sidewalks, paving, and curbs and gutters, with the associated reinforcing steel, formwork and subgrade. The role is client-facing: you would communicate directly with customers and preconstruction teams, prepare and send RFIs, discuss scope and drawing questions, and follow up on missing information without relying on an internal intermediary. You would also track addenda and drawing revisions, keep organized estimate files with traceable quantities, meet firm bid deadlines and support handoffs to the operations team. The requirement is a senior-level estimator who understands how concrete is physically built and can make sound, independent estimating decisions, not a takeoff operator. Civil and site work (grading, excavation, cut and fill, drainage, site concrete and paving) is valued but is not a screening barrier. The schedule is U.S. Central Time business hours, Monday to Friday, a full 40-hour week adjusted for U.S. daylight saving time, and it is not negotiable. Reliable high-speed internet, a backup power and connectivity plan, and strict confidentiality of company pricing and client information are required.
